My Weight Loss Journey!

Friday, April 29th, 2011

I knew as soon as I gave birth to our daughter that it would be a struggle to lose the weight that I wanted to but it had to be done.  After our son was born almost 3 years ago, I didn’t exactly jump back as quick as I had hoped and it needed to be different this go around not only physically but mentally.

As soon as the doctor gave me the okay to start exercising, I was in the gym starting my journey to lose the weight.  I was introduced to an awesome trainer who has helped me make such amazing progress and I have so much support from my husband (who himself has lost almost 80 pounds).

Since my start two months ago, I have lost almost 20 pounds!  A couple of days ago, I tried on a cocktail dress that I haven’t worn in about 4 years and it fit!  It’s just amazing and I can’t wait to reach my goal (a little under half way there).

This morning, my trainer grabbed two- 20 pound dumbbells and told me to walk around the track (this symbolized what I was carrying before my weightloss).  Wow, I definitely don’t want to gain that weight back!  I feel better than ever and am working hard to continue to be the best I can!

He got two gifts today!!!

When I arrived at Phillip’s school today, he showed me his brand new “boo-boo”!  He was so proud of it and in his words he said, “it’s bloody too!”  After being so proud, he finally come to the realization that it actually hurt so then the drama began along with tears and whining.  It was almost comical!

We have been working with him for months on potty training.  We rewarded him periodically for doing such a great job and this was his final reward!  He was so happy to finally get Iron Man.  Can you tell?  Things we do for our kiddos!

My Fortune!

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

The other evening I had a meeting to attend so Alex stopped by Dragon Den for some yummy chinese food.  When I got home this was my fortune.  I am working on the “good health” thing and I am always surrounded by luxury.  My luxuries is my family—a wonderful husband who I consider my best friend and my two beautiful children who have taught my all about life.  I thank God everyday for my “luxuries” in life!

Our Easter Day!

Monday, April 25th, 2011

Today was great!  We started our morning giving Phillip his easter basket and then headed to church for a wonderful service.  After church, we went to “mama and papa’s” house for lunch but first it was family picture time (which is always interesting with a 2 year old).  Lunch was yummy but Phillip was ready for the easter egg hunt.  With the help of his little cousin, he and she hunted and hunted until they found all their eggs.  They both had a blast and we had fun watching them.

Even though Phillip loved the idea of getting gifts and most of all candy, he knew the “real” meaning of Easter.  In his words–the real meaning of Easter is, “Jesus!  Is Alive!”

One of our Traditions

Alex’s mom came across a photograph of him when he was about 2-3 months old and I just fell in love with it.  When Phillip was born, I wanted something similar of him to go along with Alex’s and then when our baby girl was born, we did the same.   It’s amazing to see how similar they all look.

And for those that didn’t believe Alex had hair at one time–here is our proof (he’s the one in the middle).

Let’s Go Egg Hunting!

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

Tonight was our church Easter Egg Hunt and Phillip was everywhere!  Got the chance to use my new camera that my hubby got me and I like it a lot!

Phillip first wanted to play on the playground and go down the slides and when they opened the gates to the ball field, he was off and running–picking up every egg he could find.  It was so much fun watching him run around like a “mad man”.

The church put out over 400 filled eggs and they were gone in minutes!

After the egg hunt, we all gathered in the dining center for juice and cupcakes plus to see all the yummy treats that were picked up.  Sugar rush here we come!!  In the end, little guy had a breakdown but it was so worth it:)

Thinking Back!

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

Today my task was to prepare Phil’s (my dad-in-law) vacation photographs (from out West) to be printed for his upcoming trip next month.  While going through some of his photographs, it brought back memories of our trip to Arizona and Utah a couple of years before our son was born.

Wow, did we have fun on that trip!  We took a week and visited the national parks (Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion Canyon, Antelope Canyon and Sedona).  It was beautiful!  Can’t wait to go back one day but this time I want to hike all the way to the bottom of the Grand Canyon instead of just half way like before and I also want to take the time to go to Monument Valley (just ran out of time before).

My Little Super Hero!!!

Monday, April 18th, 2011

Well, our little guy is loving Super Heroes (any kind) these days.  He loves Spider Man, Super Man, Iron Man, Batman, and especially Buzz Lightyear.  Alex and I came across a website that makes customizable Super Hero capes and I just had to get it for him.  When he opened it, he was not sure about it but after some convincing he fell in love with it!  It is so cute to see him wear it and fly around calling himself, “Super Phillip”!

Today I my new camera came in and I can’t wait to start using it!  Just got to learn all the new settings and what all my camera will do.  It’s a great little camera for our “on the go” family.

We are truly honored!

Almost a year ago, my husband (Alex) started his weight loss journey with the help of Ultra Fit.  Today he has lost 78 pounds!  He still has a little bit more weight that he wants to lose but I am so proud of him.  After our daughter was born at the end of December and I was given doctor approval, I started my journey too!  To date, I have lost over 15 pounds!

Yesterday, he was invited to attend the Ultra Fit Celebration Party held at City Range in Spartanburg, SC and we were given the Relentless Pursuit Award (I had a birthday party to attend so I couldn’t go).  We are so honored by this award and are so excited about Ultra Fit.  It is a great program and everyone involved is so inspiring.
We can’t wait to reach our goals and share with everyone!

You ought to check out Ultra Fit at  It will change your life because I know it has mine!  It’s really the only program that helped both Alex and I lose weight and feel so much healthier.
